From Dismantles in S14 to Resin Art: A Busy Week for Lee

It’s been another productive week for the team, covering everything from large-scale tree removals to precision hedge care across Sheffield and Dronfield. Even with the typical South Yorkshire weather keeping us on our toes, we’ve been busy ensuring our customers' gardens are safe and tidy.
Large Conifer Dismantles in S14 (Sheffield)
We kicked off the week in the S14 area of Sheffield with a major project: the safe dismantle of five large conifers. These trees had reached a size where they were dominating the garden and blocking significant light.
Using controlled climbing and rigging, we brought them down section by section. We even managed to capture a time-lapse video of the process so you can see the team in action! [Watch the Video Here]
Willow Re-pollard in Dronfield (S18)
Over in Dronfield, we spent some time with a beautiful Willow tree. Willows are fast growers and require regular "re-pollard" (if previously had a pollard) to keep them at a manageable size and maintain their health. It’s a job that requires a delicate touch to ensure the tree thrives in the spring.
Hedge Trimming & Cedar Care in S12
Mid-week took us to the S12 area of Sheffield for some detailed maintenance work. The task list included:
• Hedge Trimming: Sharpening up boundary hedges for a clean look.
• Cedar Reduction: A careful reduction to manage the tree's spread while keeping its natural shape.
• Larch Pruning: A tidy-up to keep the tree healthy and looking its best.
In the Workshop: Pine Cones & Resin
While the woodworking side of the business was slightly quieter this week due to some essential tool maintenance, Lee hasn't been idle! To keep things moving, he built a new wood lathe steady to assist with more complex turns.
He’s also started an exciting new project: a custom cup made from a unique mix of pine cones and resin. It’s looking great so far—stay tuned to our social media to see how the finished piece turns out!
